Provides engineering and management consulting services to natural gas companies and municipalities.

 

Prepares detailed engineering designs to expand existing distribution and transmission facilities to serve new areas, or to improve the natural gas flow and pressure to areas already being served. Designs distribution main, regulator stations, services, and metersets for new customers. Performs flow modeling for system improvements.

 

Prepares comprehensive specifications to meet client needs and company standards as well as state and federal regulations for the construction of the design. Supervises the preparation of project drawings. Recommends equipment and materials to clients. Prepares engineering and construction cost estimates. Develops construction sequence requirements and construction timetables. Prepares bid packages, oversees bid processes, evaluates bids, and provides construction management services.

 

Works with regulatory agencies involved in the project construction areas, such as Departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection. Prepares and submits necessary permit applications for highway and railroad right-of-way encroachments. Develops environmental permitting documents for navigable waterways, erosion and sediment control, and land disturbance.

 

Monitors governmental agencies’ regulatory requirements concerning operational practices, safety, construction practices, and compliance. Assists clients with their Operations and Maintenance plans, DIMP/TIMP compliance, Public Awareness programs, Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse programs, and Operator Qualification adherence.

 

Assists with preparing customized Operation and Maintenance plans, Distribution/Transmission Integrity Management plans, Public Awareness plans, and Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse plans for individual gas systems. Provides assistance with tracking mechanisms and filings of paperwork as it pertains to regulatory audits/ease of accessibility. Participates in regulatory audits to provide guidance to clients and assists in answering questions from regulatory agencies.
